Friday morning Whitney had her convocation ceremony in the DeJong Concert Hall. She graduated from the School of Music and they combined their ceremony with the department of dance, music dance theatre, and the department of theatre and media arts. Man what a group of talented kids. There were 2 musical numbers that were AMAZING!

After the ceremony and more picture taking. Tom met Hal out at Elk Ridge and went golfing and Patty picked Whitney and I up for a delicious lunch at Pizzeria 712 in Orem.
Then it was time for some serious "sister shopping". Tom and I stayed at Aunt Patty's Bed and Breakfast and it was so nice.Patty and Hal are marvelous hosts. We loved our trip to Utah and are so proud of Whitney and her magna cum laude graduation from BYU!
"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Hail to the Chief!
Whitney, aka the "Chief" (a Devin nickname) finished her college education last December. She has been working as a PE teacher at Spring Creek Elementary School in Provo since January, but since BYU doesn't hold Graduation ceremonies in December, she had to wait until April to officially graduate. Tom and I drove down to Provo last Thursday and got there just in time to attend the commencement exercises in the Marriot Center. Elder Dallin Oaks was the keynote speaker and he gave a great talk. It was fun for Tom and I to listen to Dallin Oaks in the Marriot Center again. He was the President of BYU when we both graduated and he signed both of our diplomas.
After the ceremony and a few pictures ;)we went to dinner out in Orem to a fairly new Mexican restaurant called Milagros. It was really good and what made it even better is that it is one of Bronco Mendenhall's favorite places to eat.
After dinner, we drove back to Provo and made Whitney pose for more photos. She loved it.

Hail to the Chief Indeed! Congratulations, Whitney! Joan, you look so pretty in that green outfit.
What a little genius!! Good for the Chief. Wish we could have been there to make her pose for more pictures. Someday she'll be glad she has them to show the grandkids.
We are so proud of Whitney! She is such a musician and a top student! Congratulations!
Woohoo! I hope my kids get Auntie Whitney genes. Or just the Morris genes in general. We Palmers are all knuckleheads.
