"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Utah Roadtrip Part 1

The night before Whitney and I embarked on our Utah roadtrip, we hosted the graduating seniors from our ward at a Bishop's Fireside. The Bishop, parents, YM and YW leaders, honored the seniors and then the Bishop gave some counsel and gifts. We will miss the seniors, the number of youth in the ward is getting very small. Whitney and I left for Logan on Monday morning. We met Patty, Hal, Pam, Roger and Missy's family at the Logan Cemetery. Evan and Kelly always supply beautiful flowers to decorate Mom and Dad's graves. It was so hot and sunny in Logan, it was hard to get a good picture. After visiting all the family gravesites at the Logan Cemetery, we had lunch at Frederico's (a USU pizza hangout) and then had Aggie icecream at the creamery. We always stop in Wellsville and decorate Grandma and Grandpa Park's graves. They were the parents that raised Grandma Libby and they have no other posterity to honor them. We headed down to Provo and went straight to Whitney's 5th grade classroom. We moved in all of the stuff we brought from Boise, books, keyboard, games, puzzles, etc. During the week, Whitney was able to get it all set up and ready for next fall. Go Miss Morris. Tuesday morning was preparations for an Aunt Patty Tea Party. My contribution was Banana-Pecan cupcakes with a salted maple buttercream and a raw sugar topping. Does that sound Cupcake Wars or what? They really were delicious. Gigi, Jessica's little girl, loved the frosting. Gigi and Jessica were visiting from Portland and were able to stay long enough to go to the Tea Party. Here are some of the samplings from the Tea Party. Pam made a delicious layered Taco salad. Broccoli- Cauliflower Salad The sister chefs! A beautiful spread Whitney's fruit tarts The Guests The highlight of the Tea Party for me, was hearing these little cousins and 2nd cousins sing Primary songs together in the basement. What cute cousins! It was a terrific tea party! Thanks Patty for being a hostess with the mostess.
