"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Octoberfesting 2012

We love Octoberfest weekend because it means family, friends and yummy food. Whitney came home for the weekend and brought 3 of her friends from Provo (the fame of Octoberfest is spreading far and wide, at least among the Provo crowd).
Friday night before Whitney got home from Provo,
Tom and I went to a Halloween party. See if you can find us.
We all went to the Boise Temple Open house on Saturday morning.
We spent Saturday afternoon watching the  BYU /Notre Dame football game
and Lauren, Whitney and Trex baked the treats for Octoberfest.

Apple strudel and chocolate cupcakes for the kids.

Black Forest Cake

The chefs, Hansen and John, the host with the weinerschnitzel skills.

The "fun" table

The dessert table

Clay and Jean Putnam, Bill Norman, Hansen Smith
and Miss Cindy, the hostess with the mostest!
Whitney entertaining the crowd with her "hot gypsy jazz".

The Smith family

Thanks John and Cindy for another wonderful Octoberfest!
We love this fun Fall tradition.

Looks so fun--I've got to go to that now that I live closer. And you guys are the awesome hippies in the first pic. Looks like you had a great time with that as well.

I am still nursing my wounded heart about missing Oktoberfest. It is honestly one of my favorite occasions ever! The food looks scrumptious, as always, and the company even better!

What a great tradition! The little Smith kids and Eden (I think that's who it must be) looks so grown up and beautiful just like her mom. The wienerschnitzel sounds delish.
