"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

September in Sun Valley

Each fall Tom and I like to head to the hills to see the fall colors and enjoy the beautiful Idaho scenery.  This year we chose to go to Sun Valley because we got a great "group-on" deal that we couldn't pass up.
First stop on Friday morning was "The Kneadery" for breakfast.
If you're ever in Ketchum, don't miss it.

After breakfast we went on a hike to Baker Lake. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful hike to a high mountain lake.

The aspen tree's leaves had just begun to change.

We had a picnic at Russian John's Hotsprings. The photo above was our view from the hot springs.
The view was hard to beat.
We rated the picnic a 9.5. Good food, good company, good location, great weather and water.
Our home away from home.
One of the best parts of the "group-on" deal was free use of the hotel's bikes. Sun Valley has a great greenbelt so we had a fun bike-ride.

Saturday morning we went hiking in Adam's Gulch. It was awesome!

We drove through Stanley on our way back to Boise and stopped for a picnic at Redfish Lake.
Again, a 9.5 picnic. We're still holding out for that perfect 10.

It was a crazy, warm day for the end of September and lots of people were boating and playing on the beach.
Can't wait until next year.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful outing. Fun, but not fun enough to miss the BYU game!
