"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Spring Breaking it in Arizona!

I had such a wonderful spring break trip to Arizona to visit Whitney.
I flew down on Thursday afternoon and Whitney picked me up at the airport and took me to lunch at "Culinary Dropouts" in Tempe.
It was yummy! She knows all the cool places to eat thanks to Kubo.
Whitney had her graduate school classes on Thursday night so I hung out at her apartment and got to watch some NCAA basketball.
Friday morning we went on a beautiful hike right by the new Phoenix Temple.
The cactus were in bloom.
I never cease to be amazed by these big Saguaro cactus.

After our hike we got pedicures and went to lunch and then shopped.
Sister and Daughter shopping is the BEST!
We went to the movie Cinderella in the afternoon and that evening
we took Whitney's friend, Eric out to dinner with us to Barrio Cafe.
We had delicious fish tacoes
Saturday morning I met Whitney at the temple and we did a session together.
She is a temple worker and works at the temple on Saturday mornings.
The Phoenix temple is BEAUTIFUL!
It was such a blessing to be in the temple with Whitney.
Saturday afternoon we headed to the ballpark in Mesa.
The Cubs were playing the Mariners for spring training at their new ballpark, Sloan Park. We stopped for lunch at Chick Fil A and then found out the game was sold out so Whitney bargained for some tickets for us with a scalper.
It was a gorgeous day for a ballgame
Our seats were out in center field.
Devin has been a Cubs fan ever since he to watched the games with Grandpa Gabe. I knew he would appreciate this Sandberg jersey.
Whitney and Eric enjoying the game

We moved down to the shade after the 7th inning stretch because many of the fans left. We found seats right on the 3rd baseline.

The final score: Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win!

After dinner we drove back to Glendale and went to the new movie Insurgent.
Monday morning was back to work for Whitney so I dropped her off at her elementary school and I went on another hike.

It was a beautiful view from the top of Glendale and the surrounding area.

I spent the morning shopping and then I met
Whitney at her school at 2 and I got to meet the kids in her classroom.
They thought it was awesome to meet Ms. Morris' Mom.

She's an amazing teacher and I am so proud of her.
It was so fun getting to spend time with Whitney
and her roommates and friends.
They were so nice to let me crash at their apartment.
I flew back to Boise on Tuesday.
It was an awesome spring break!
