"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

April Travels bring May Flowers (or something like that)

We kicked off April with a couple of busy travel weeks.
The first week of April, Tom and I drove to Provo
for my BYU Alumni Board meetings.
Thankfully we got to stay with Patty and Hal.
They are always such hospitable hosts.
A highlight for me is getting to be with Taylor while I'm on campus so
I met him for lunch on Thursday at the Museum of Art cafe.
All of my meetings are held at the Hinckley Alumni Center,
my home away from home.
We had awesome board meetings with some fantastic speakers.
At the banquet on Thursday night, Spencer Linton and Jarom Jordan spoke.
They are the hosts of BYU Sports Nation program on BYU TV and BYU radio.
I've been listening to their podcast the last couple of months so it was a treat to meet them.  They are really nice guys.
On Friday afternoon we got to take a tour of the BYU broadcasting building.
Wow, what an amazing, state of the art facility.
This is the control room
For all you Studio C fans out there
Here's the set for BYU Sports Nation

We got to watch Studio C tape a sketch.
They got 11 people on a motorcycle.
It was really clever and fun to watch them in person.
I took some pictures of the sketch they were filming but we weren't supposed to share any of the pictures on social media.
Here's the cast checking out the tape on the camera after they filmed it.

Friday night, Tom and I got tickets to the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the HFAC (Harris Fine Arts Center)
All of BYU's performing groups performed in every venue of the HFAC and at the Wilkinson Center.
We got to hear some incredible piano, organ and vocal performance majors,
we saw the BYU Folk dancers, Theater ballet, and Ballroom dance team.
They even lit the Y for the big celebration!
A Chinese drum group outside the Wilkinson Center.
Synthesis was the dance band in the ballroom of the Wilkinson Center.
They played all the big band songs.
 Ballroom dancers
We ended up at the "Wall" where we listened to Broadway vocalists.
Tom wanted to hang out with Cosmo
Saturday morning we drove to Salt Lake to attend General Conference.
We had tickets to the afternoon session, so we arrived a little bit early so we could eat lunch at Crown Burger.
I hadn't been to Conference since I was a freshman at BYU.
It was amazing getting to attend at the beautiful Conference Center.

The flowers on temple square are always so beautiful!

It was a beautiful spring day.

It was such a blessing to attend General Conference.
Afterwards, Tom and I got in our car and drove back to Boise and listened to the Priesthood Session on the way home.
We had to catch a flight to Atlanta on Sunday morning at 6:30 am.
Up next, our trip to Atlanta, Georgia....
