"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Spring Break with the Cardon's

We got a wonderful week long visit from the Cardon family for Spring Break this year! It was so fun having them stay with us as we enjoyed lots of cousin and family time.  I think they were a bit disappointed that the swimming pool wasn't open yet, but we found lots of activities to keep us busy.
The Cardon's flew in from Denver on Friday afternoon and the Morris cousins couldn't get over soon enough to visit them.
Sophie and Leah are BFF's and loved playing together and eating Popsicles.
Even though the swimming pool wasn't open, the kids had a blast partying in the hot tub.
On Saturday, Elizabeth got to meet her great grandma Charlie.
Spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Charlie is always a treat.
Later on Saturday, our friends the Schiefelbeins had a HUGE Easter egg hunt,
complete with golden eggs and an Easter bunny.
I think they had hidden about 2,000 eggs.

I think this Easter bunny lost half of his head in a brutal attack?
So fun for Tommy to meet his newest little cousin, baby Mid, as Tom calls her.
Sunday was church day.
Don't the girls look beautiful in their matching dresses?

We planned out a very busy week with activities for each day.
Monday was a visit to the Discovery Center.
The kids loved discovering at the Science center.
They built cars, built forts out of boxes, played in the bubble wall,
broadcast the weather, etc.
It is a great Science museum for little Boise.

Eva took a break to hold baby Elizabeth.

We enjoyed a visit to Delsa's after FHE on Monday night.
The kids love Delsa's and it is a tradition to visit every time they come to town.

Tuesday was movie day so we went to the new Disney movie Zootopia.
It was a hit with everyone!
We all love baby Tommy!

Wednesday we met Grandpa Tom Tom at the park for a picnic lunch

and then headed to the YMCA for some indoor swimming

Sarah P took some newborn photos of baby Elizabeth on Thursday morning,
so I hung out with Tommy.
It doesn't look like he was too thrilled with our selfie.

Friday morning Lucy and I went on a hike in the foothills to Seaman's gulch.
She is a great hiking partner.

Sarah P watched the kids while Sara and I went to get a pedicure.
What a treat!

When we got home, we dyed Easter eggs.

We read lots of stories
and the kids were so excited when Uncle Taylor came home from BYU for the weekend.
They loved playing basketball with the boys.
We had to line up Elizabeth and Tommy to compare sizes.
Taylor was worried that Tommy would eat baby Elizabeth.
Saturday morning we drove up to Hidden Springs for their neighborhood Easter egg hunt.
What a fun neighborhood event.

Complete with baby chicks, baby lambs, and baby bunnies,
PLUS, free cotton candy!
and face painting
peacock feather
bunny face.
Saturday evening Sara's in-laws were in town for the baby blessing on Sunday, and Sarah P's parents were in town for Easter, so we all met up at Smash Burger for some dinner.
We had a Taylor hosted hot tub party afterwards!
and then celebrated Zachy's 7'th birthday with this delicious ice cream cake.
Sunday, was baby Elizabeth's blessing day.
What a treat to get to bless her in our ward, with almost our whole family
(poor Whitney tried to get to Boise, but got stuck in San Francisco for the weekend)

The star of the show!
We had a delicious Easter dinner after church complete with ham loaf, funeral potatoes, lemon pudding salad, green beans, rolls and a delicious Dulce de leche layer cake made by Sarah P.

These two girls are BFF's too

After dinner we had our own Easter egg hunt (no Easter bunnies this time)

I'm so happy that we got to spend a week with this wonderful family and that we got to be a part of baby Elizabeth's blessing day. What a special treat to celebrate Easter and a brand new grandbaby.
We love the Cardon's and can't wait for another visit.

That was ((almost)) as great reading it as it was living it!! We miss you all this week. It's terrible living so far away, but it sure makes visiting all the more fun and special when we come!

Wow, what a jam packed week with loved ones! Such cute pics of your grandkids, and how wonderful that you could bless little Elizabeth in Boise and almost all of you be there. We were in Boise cross-over during that time and I wish we could have gotten together. I knew you had family and we were jam packing every minute to help Missy and Jedd and attend some of the kids' activities. We are both so blessed to have lots of wonderful grandkids - the Gabrielsen clan is expanding! Hopefully next time we are up that way, we can get together!
