"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Christmas at the Kissing Booth

Well we have certainly been in the Christmas spirit this season and have been having a lot of fun. We kicked off the festivities with a gingerbread contest. My friend Kubo and I of course sweeped the competition leaving trails of tears in our tracks. Notice the sweet duck pond that actually won us the title of gingerbread masters.

All the competitors!

The whole neighborhood!

We also entered our ward talent show and won that performing an arousing number of "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", all sung one word at a time with my roommate Brooke, the hippo, popping out of the present and singing "hippopotamus" every time that word was used. The costume was lovingly prepared by one of our FHE brothers-- way to go!

This picture is of us creeping down the stairs to see our presents.

We had our traditional Christmas card shoot and got some good family pictures in front of the fireplace. Other holiday activities include a grand gift exchange, decorating sugar cookies, decorating our tree we found in the basement, caroling to our home teachers, seeing the lights on Temple Square, and watching an enormous list of Christmas movies (we're only about halfway). It's been a fun-filled season!

Whitney, you need to explain that your house is nicknamed "the kissing booth". I'm not sure why?{:
Looks like you have had lots of Christmas fun. I hope there has been some studying mixed in with all the merriment:}

Love it Whitters!! I was hoping you actually participated in a Kissing Booth, by winning a gingerbread contest is almost as awesome.:)

"but" (not "by")

Whit, you are so festive. I love the hippo costume. Can I borrow it next year for Halloween? Although maybe I don't want to invite the comparison...
