Tom and I drove to Provo last Thursday and made it just in time to see Whitney in concert with the BYU Legacy Dixieland Jazz Band in the DeJong Concert Hall. It was a terrific concert! The Dixieland band had traveled to Sacramento the weekend before to perform in a Jazz Festival at Sacramento State. They won every award and Whitney was awarded "Best Female Vocalist" among the colleges that participated. The band performed all of the pieces they played for the festival plus a bunch of others with a guest jazz trumpeter. The best part was seeing Whitney jammin up on stage for an hour and a half. She was amazing! She got to do a vocal solo, If Dreams Could Come True, which brought down the house.
"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

I'm so glad you got to go and that you got home safe! Go Whitney!
Yahoo for Whitney!! She's so beautiful AND talented. I wish I could have been there-- her junior recital is one of my most favorite memories. She needed to try out for this year's American Idol.
Whitters IS amazing! She looks absolutely gorgeous in those pictures, too. I wish I could've been there to see her "bring down the house." I'm not surprised that she did. I'm sorry that you had to go through a snowstorm on the way home! Not fun. . . I'm glad you made it safely.
Yay for Whitney!!! She is SO amazingly talented! Gotta see more video! Dan Seibel
Mom, don't you think you could use a different adjective to describe the Chief? I am all "amazing"-ed out from watching the Bachelor. That word is so abused and overused that it has lost all meaning to me. So I will propose a new word: boss. As in, Whitney is totally boss. This adjective motivated Michael Scott to pursue his illustrious career in paper sales and I think it has the potential to motivate Whitney to attain similar heights.
That last comment was property of Devin T. Morris. Sorry about that, I was still logged in under somebody else's account. I don't want my wife getting credit for my hilariousness...
Devin, everyone knows I'm the funny one in the family. Don't feel bad, you're the obscure sports knowledge guy.
