While we were in South Carolina, Taylor participated in the District tennis tournament. Taylor had planned all year to play boy's doubles with his partner Nick (they finished third at State last year and at least Taylor felt they had some unfinished business), but at the last minute Nick decided to play singles so that left Taylor without a doubles partner. He decided to play mixed doubles with his partner Katie and so went into district with having only played one match together. They weren't seeded at all in the tournament so had to start from the bottom and work their way through the bracket. They ended up getting 2nd place in District with only one loss to Boise. Whitney was in charge of cheering Taylor on through the tournament and taking pictures, but she forgot the camera, so the moment went unrecorded :(
This last weekend was the State tennis tournament. Having gotten second in District, they were put on the opposite side of Boise in the State tournament. They easily beat Boise 2, Timblerline, and then Idaho Falls which put them in the championship match against Boise (the team they lost to in District). They lost the first set 4-6, won the second set 6-3, but then lost the final set 3-6. Boise was good - they didn't lose a single match all year and only lost three sets all year. Taylor played great and we are so proud of them for getting 2nd place in the State tournament! Go Taylo!!!

Way to go Taylor! Not bad for the only basketball playing, non-racquet club kid in the tournament. You amaze me! But just wait until I get my new 130 mph serve down and then we'll see who the best tennis player in the family is!! Ha Ha
Congrats!! That's so awesome!! I never got second at anything in my life...all I ever did to contribute to the family's good name is have cute babies (Devin's the smart one, Whitney's the musician, Taylor's the atholete....). Yada, yada, yada.
Crap! That was Sara again that just commented. Get me signed out of this!!
