I will conclude this blogathon with the most important news of all! Whitney got her mission call!!!! Whitney left for Philadelphia to help Sara with baby Zach and Lucy on Thursday, the day after we got home. We had hoped her call would come before she left, but it was not to be. It arrived on Friday but we were at tennis all day and didn't find it in the mailbox til Friday evening. I excitedly called Whitney and we decided to open it on the webcam at 9 pm EDT, 7 pm MDT with Devin and Taylor on their cell phones. I opened it and held it up to the webcam but it was too hard for her to read, so I read it out loud.

None of us could believe that she was called to Russia even though I had talked to Patty on the phone the night before and she told me how they were needing missionaries in Russia. Whitney reports to the MTC on July 15 so we have LOTS to do to get her ready. Pray for Whitney that she will be able to learn the very difficult language, be safe and successful and pray for her Mom that she will have the faith to send her daughter to Samara, Russia :)

Russia IS lucky to have her! She will be a fabulous missionary. She can learn the ropes from Patty and Hal. Good luck getting all ready.
WAHOOOO!!! Congrats Whitney! We're so excited for you! You are gonna be an amazing missionary. I'm about to cry, how exciting! ;)
I still can't believe it!!
Whitney!!!! I can see you bundled from head to toe, tromping the snowy streets of Samara with your happy, blue eyes peeking out between your scarf and hood and loving every minute of it. Write and tell me what borst (sp?)-- you know, beet soup-- tastes like! You lucky girl! You have ahead of you 18 months of the funnest, most tiring, happiest, most frustrating, most inspiring, closest-to-heaven days you'll ever know! I am thrilled for you! Go Whit! --Ali
