We had our last family camping getaway this past weekend. We went up to Poverty Flats campground (an old family favorite from when Devin and Sara were little)which is between Warm Lake and Yellowpine about a 2 3/4 hour drive from Boise(pretty much in the middle of nowhere). We had the campground to ourselves and it was wonderful! It was SO peaceful! The campground is right on the banks of the South Fork of the Salmon River and we saw lots of salmon which had made their way almost 700 miles from the Pacific Ocean to spawn. They were huge fish, between 2-3 feet long. We got up there Friday around noon and Missy and Jedd and family joined us that evening. We had delicious dutch oven meals, rode bikes, hiked, played in the river and hot springs, built campfires, saw deer and bald eagles, roasted marshmallows (smores are my favorite, but don't try roasting peppermint peeps) =( and deposited the last of our "rocks". It was a great way to end our summer adventures, now it's time for our fall adventures to begin because school starts tomorrow! It's also time to make some new "rocks".

Sounds fun! Peppermint peeps??
I'm with Tricia-- peppermint peeps?!? Gross. This camping trip sounds like the best one yet-- I'd go. Did Lone Wolf catch any salmon with his bare hands?? Good luck to Taylo!
C'mon, with my bare hands? Are you kidding? I used just my bare teeth!
Lone Wolf
You're already out of rocks? You two do some many fun things. Especially for someone that just works and pays taxes.
Who needs to go to Alaska when you can see the salmon right there in Idaho? The pictures are great!
Wish I could have been there for another round of camping fun with you!
How fun! I didn't know they made peppermint peeps, I'd like to stick to regular old plain marshmallows. How many salmon did the Lone Wolf catch with his bare teeth? I'm guessing ya'll had a salmon feast.
