"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

A Birthday Odyssey

For my birthday this year, Tom took me on an odyssey. We started out at The Egg Factory for breakfast. I had my favorite, Eggs Benedict. Then we drove off toward Mountain Home into the Owyhee dessert. We drove all the way from Grandview to Jordan Valley, Oregon (a total of 250 miles).

The scenery was surprisingly beautiful. We stopped and took lots of pictures and picked wild juniper berries (I hear you can cook with them?) then had a treat in Jordan Valley. The dessert was green and there were lots of flowers in bloom from all the rain we've had. We saw even saw some antelope.
We got back to Boise and I had time to do a little birthday shopping and then Tom and I went to dinner at McGrath's, to a wedding reception, and then had birthday cake.
It was a great birthday odyssey.
