"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Camping with Grandpa Tom Tom

We have LOVED having Sara, Jon and kids here for a few weeks on their way moving from "Philyadelphia" to Las Vegas. As part of our Father's Day celebrations (Tom LOVES to camp) we all went camping on Friday. We headed up the middle fork of the Payette River and found a beautiful campsite and got all set up. Then we made a delicious dutch oven dinner with barbecue chicken, dutch oven potatoes (we missed you Missy and Jedd), fruit and dutch oven whole wheat bread with honey butter. We made smores and told camping stories. It was a perfect night. We got up Saturday morning and had "mountain man" breakfast and then headed up to Silver Creek Plunge to go swimming. It felt so good to swim in the warm hot springs. We drove back to camp and packed up and headed home. We got home just in time for a quick swim in the pool and then we cleaned up and went to dinner at Red Robin for Tom's favorite Terriyaki chicken sandwich. For Father's Day on Sunday, we had Grandma and Grandpa Charlie over for dinner and Taylor was ordained an Elder. It was a great Father's Day weekend.

What a fun and great weekend. Congrats to Taylor! It looks like you got the pool open. Does Taylor got the Italian Soda bar open? If so, expect me any time.

How fun that you got to have Sara and her family with you to celebrate Father's Day. And I bet you're even more excited to have them living closer!

I'm happy to report that Zachy's camping privileges have been reinstated per Grandpa Tom Tom's recent assessment. Lucky guy.

I'm getting excited for Boise! Think I can talk Tom into taking making another Red Robin run with me?
