"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Cardon's at the Cabin

One of our favorite places in the world is Grandma and Grandpa Charlie's cabin in Island Park. It was so fun spending the weekend before the 4th of July at the cabin with the Cardon's and Grandma and Grandpa Charlie. The first night we got there, Tom headed out to the river to fish right after dinner. The kids and I waited on the dock and when Tom would catch a fish, he would bring it over to the dock for the kids to reel it in. They had so much fun. The fishing was great. Tom said he caught one of the biggest fish he's ever caught in the river this trip.
We went on a great picnic, rated 9.5, good food, great scenery, beautiful weather, and awesome company.
The kids played in the river,
We ate yummy food and played lots of games,
and we even had a visit from a moose and two of her calves. They entered the river right by Grandpa Charlie who was fishing.
We love taking a day and driving into Yellowstone Park. We drove up to Mammoth Hot Springs and on the way (in honor of Taylor)we stopped for "illegal" fireworks in West Yellowstone
we saw elk,
buffalo
and lots of "hot water",
We had another fabulous picnic,
and we stopped for ice cream at Mammoth Hot Springs.
The girls stayed in West Yellowstone to watch "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Playmill Theater. It was a really cute show. Lucy loved it. We've been singing all the songs ever since.
Sunday morning we went to church in Ashton and on the way home we stopped at Warm Springs to feed the fish.
and then we took the obligatory pictures out on the deck.
We love the cabin and every minute we get to spend there. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Charlie for hosting us.

You forgot to include that you smelled lots of stinky gas around Yellowstone's many hot pots...oh wait, that was just Sara...ah the memories...

On a more serious note, I remember when I used to get to go to the cabin regularly. Those were the days...

What great memories! Zach is still talking about the hot lava in Yellowstone. How come you didn't include a picture of Death House?
