"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Phase Two: Fabulous Fourth at the Cabin!

Sarah, Eva and Sophie hadn't been to the cabin for a long time so we were so excited to head to Island Park for some 4th of July FUN!
First on the list was to attend the 4th of July parade in Ashton Idaho.
Those Ashton folks know how to put on a parade.

Wagons,

Lots of candy,
Firetrucks,
Tractors,

Popsicles,
Mormon missionaries,

Potato floats,
Horses,
and Princesses (aka Miss Ashton and her attendants)

This is the pile of candy, popsicles and chocolate milk.
Where else can you get chocolate milk in a parade?
We had beautiful weather while we were there

and Grandpa Tom Tom went on a few bike rides.

As usual, we had lots of yummy food

and  Grandpa did a little fishing.
and of course
we had to play Pooh Sticks!

I never get tired of this view.

Dance Party!!

Two happy girls!

We went to the Ashton Fireworks show!
It was pretty impressive.
We made our annual pilgrimage into Yellowstone.
We couldn't believe all the people.
As you can see, Eva hates to pose for pictures :)

Buddies

We had an awesome picnic!
The grand canyon of the Yellowstone

Ice cream at Old Faithful Inn

We went on a hike and had another picnic

What a spot, what a spot, so quiet and cool,
just like it was when I was in school.
Name that book?!
Sophie, Eva, Sarah and I went to Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill theater.  The girls loved it.

We had some quesadillas in West Yellowstone before the play.
We saw this beautiful double rainbow on our way home from West.
After church on Sunday, we drove back to Boise, but had some car problems along the way and got stuck in the middle of the dessert in Arco, Idaho.
Thank goodness for Hunter Manwaring for rescuing us and for the playground and restaurant that entertained us while we waited for our ride.

A beautiful sunset on our way home.

I don't know how I could forget to blog about ARco! What a fun week we had! I think it was perfect. (except maybe for the Arco part.)
