"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Last Chance Campout

Devin and Sarah were moved into their new home and Sarah and girls were in Canada visiting her family. Sara and family were off to Washington to visit Jon's family, so Tom and I decided to head to the hills for a summer camping adventure.  We go camping with our friends, Rick and Aline Hurst every year. This year we chose to meet at the Last Chance Campground up above McCall.  They found a perfect camping spot and we got our camp all set up.
Friday morning we drove into McCall for a delicious breakfast at
the Pancake House.
(now that's my kind of camping)
After breakfast we drove up above Brundage ski resort to a couple of beautiful high mountain lakes.
We stopped and took a look at Hazard Lake

And then hiked up to Scribner Lake

Of course we had to have a picnic.
Now, that's a pretty impressive picnic spot!
Then we hiked into Upper Hazzard Lake
It was a gorgeous hike through a meadow

and we found the lake

Tom and Rick even caught some fish.
We got back to camp and had a delicious barbecue chicken dinner.
Saturday we hiked into Goose Creek Falls. It was about an 8 mile hike.
It was another beautiful day and hike.
It wouldn't be summer without a camping trip with the Hurst's.

It would not be summer without camping and hiking with Tom and Joan. We have had so many amazing dutch oven dinners, adventures, crazy stories (usually from Tom) and been to so many beautiful places in Idaho. We started back packing with just the four of us no kids. After all these years we were back to just the couples, no kids. I think we have come full circle. Here's to at least 20 more years guys...we can do it. I wish we had taken a picture of our camp bunny rabbit:)
