The last few weeks of September bring beautiful weather to the Boise valley.
Tom and I decided to take advantage of the great weather so we headed out to Caldwell to Purple Sage Golf Course for a round of golf.
It was fun being on the golfcourse where I used to golf with my Mom.
Tom is a pro
I am not, but I still had fun.
I enjoy just being outdoors and walking around the course.
I look like a professional, don't you think?
We celebrated Sophie's birthday last Monday night.
Sophie is 4 years old and wanted to go to Ceramica for her birthday.
We met Devin, Sarah, Eva and Sophie at Ceramica.
Eva wanted to paint a peacock
Sophie painted a mermaid
Grandpa and Devin were the cheerleaders
We even got to eat birthday cake!
I took Sophie out to lunch and shopping for her birthday.
She chose to go to Chick Fil A for lunch
(it seems to be the most popular destination)
We shopped at Toys R Us and picked out an
"Anna" from Frozen costume as her gift
"Anna" from Frozen costume as her gift
and then went to the cupcake store.
Sophie loved the bubblegum cupcake
Tom and I drove up into the mountains on Friday afternoon to
see the fall leaves, but we were a couple weeks too early,
most of the leaves were still green.
Regardless, it was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed the drive.
We drove to Ola and Sweet
and then into Garden Valley
"Why did the turkey cross the road?"
I don't know we should have asked these guys.
Whitney has hosted a "Chilifest" the last few years where she invites her friends over for a chili cook off on Saturday between Conference sessions.
We decided to copy her tradition so we had our first annual "Chilifest" on Saturday. Sarah invited us up to their house. I made chicken chipotle chili and cornbread waffles and Sarah made some delicious homemade applesauce and chocolate cookies.
We had our chilifest after the afternoon session of Conference and then Devin and Tom went to the Priesthood session.
Sarah, Eva and Sophie inivited me to go to the Hidden Springs Movie Night.
The neighborhood association showed "Monsters, Inc" complete with a bathtub full of Halloween candy, popcorn, drinks, and decorations.
It was quite the bash.
The sweet days of September are gone for another year.
Here's hoping for some October fun!

Your round of golf looked fun! Sophie is growing up and what a cute idea for a birthday party - painting ceramics and shopping and cupcakes with grandma! I'm sure you are loving having grandkids nearby! Your chili fest sounds like a great idea for Confernce weekend!
I didn't know you golfed with Mom on Purple Sage. . . lucky! You do look very professional and beautiful on the golf course. Happy birthday, Sophie. What a fun outing for her with Grandma. . . and for you! I can't figure out why you didn't mention the BYU game in your post?? Stink!
What a fun birthday for Sophie! Those girls are both so cute! I bet it's nice having some grandkids living nearby. And I love your new window treatments, they change the whole look of the room!
Man! You guys have been SO busy lately! It was about time I caught up on all of these blog posts. My kids would be so jealous if they knew of these one-on-one birthday outings. I'd better keep it under wraps...
