We were so thankful that the snow started to melt in time for Taylor to drive home from BYU for the Thanksgiving holiday.
He brought his friend, Hailey along with him and we had a fun time showing her the sights and sounds of Boise.
They arrived on Friday evening and of course we had to eat barbecue, Taylor's favorite, so we headed to Mickey Ray's .
After dinner and a quick tour of The Village we introduced Hailey to our neighbors, the Manwaring's. She took some photos to send to her missionary son, and Taylor's good friend, Hunter

Saturday morning, Taylor and Hailey went to Hyde Park to watch Arsenal (their favorite English soccer team) play at the Parilla Grill. After a tour of downtown Boise they came home to watch the BYU game and to do some crafts.
We made these fun edible turkeys.
Hailey also helped me dip and decorate pretzel rods to give to our friends and neighbors for Christmas.
That night the adults went out to Flatbread for some delicious pizza and salad.
Hailey flew back to Utah on Sunday, she had school on Monday, but Taylor had the whole week off.
We invited all the Morris family over for a pre-Thanksgiving dessert fest.
It was so fun seeing Jen and Allen and their new son, Robert, who have just moved back to Boise from Washington DC.
Sophie and Eva loved meeting their 2nd cousins, Suzy, Charley and Maya.

Thanksgiving morning it was time for the annual Turkey Bowl.
How could the Morris boys lose when Tom is sporting pants like that?
They were even featured in a story on our local news channel
Click here to see the story on the news.
Whitney challenged us to a selfie contest in the middle of the preparations and since it was this guy's birthday, we had to have his favorite, Banana Cream Pie!
It was such a treat to have the sister missionaries serving
in our ward join us for dinner.
beautiful art work from Eva and Sophie
After dinner and clean up, Tom and I headed to the movies.
Because it was Tom's birthday, he got in for free!
We saw Interstellar and we both really enjoyed it.
On Saturday, Sarah, Eva and Sophie and I headed to Festival of Trees in downtown Boise. They both wanted a picture in front of this "Clemson" tree.
They had a long conversation with the talking Christmas tree.
We took a few more pictures
and then met Tom's parents for dinner at the Texas Roadhouse.
We had a wonderful week spending time with family and reflecting on the many, many blessings we have been given. To quote from one of my favorite hymns:
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

Great post! Hailey is such a pretty girl! I did see the "Turkey Bowl" newscast - such a fun tradition! Happy Birthday Tom!
What a fun weekend! And I can't believe how much snow Boise got! I'm glad it all melted before all the Thanksgiving travel.
Honestly, are there any better words written anywhere than that verse to that hymn? I think not. What a fun time you had! You and your wonderful family are among the blessings I count each Thanksgiving! Love you!!!!!
Sounds like you guys had a great Turkey Day. Now, really, is Haiely just a "friend"??? Hmmmm??
