I surprised Lucy for her 10th birthday by flying to Denver and celebrating with her.
Sara picked me up at the airport on Thursday morning and she took me directly to the dentist.
Thanks Jonathan!
Afterwards, we did some Christmas shopping and we went out to lunch.
Later that afternoon we went to the Nail spa for a pedicure.
It's become our tradition!
Sara hosted the missionaries for dinner that night, so we made dinner for them and I made some rice pudding for dessert.
Jonathan loved the rice pudding.
Tom was a little sad I didn't leave him with some before I left.

We of course made a trip to Costco.
Leah loves the hotdogs.
Lucy chose to celebrate her birthday with a trip to The Cheesecake Factory.
It was in a nearby mall, so we played at their "playground" while we waited to be seated
Gotta love Cheesecake Factory!
After dinner we drove to the Denver Zoo to meet
Jon's brother Jeremy and family for the light display at the zoo.
It took us a while to find a parking space, but we finally found one and headed out into the cold.
Elizabeth was all bundled up as were all of us.
It was COLD!!
My pictures don't do it justice.
It was really cool.
This picture sums up Elizabeth and Leah's opinion of the whole thing.
and this one sums up Zach's.
Gotta love a picture with the garbage can front and center.
Sunday morning was Miss Lucy's birthday, so first thing she got to open her presents.
I think her siblings were just as excited as she was.
This girl is a charmer.
She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Here she is all ready for church.
After church we took some family pictures for the Cardon family Christmas card.
Sara made this cute candy bar cake to celebrate!
Plus her cousins came over to help celebrate!
We love this 10 year old girl and are so glad she is a part of our family.

Aww, I love this! We're so glad you could come help Lucy celebrate. Although now since you're also coming for Zach's birthday it might have to become a tradition....
