"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Christmas Russian style!

We had such a wonderful Christmas with Whitney home from Russia! We always do a Christmas Around the World theme for Christmas Eve dinner, so this year, we of course chose to do Russia. We spent Christmas Eve preparing food. We made Christmas cookies (Taylor even helped frost them all) I made a yummy Russian style whole wheat bread and Whitney made piroshki stuffed with mashed potatoes and raspberry jam, Russian New Year's salad borsch and Russian apple cake. We also snuck in a trip to the movies where we saw Despicable Me. We all LOVED it and I would highly recommend it. We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner and then we went to Michelle and Steve's for our Christmas eve program. It was fun being with all the Morris family.

Everyone brought a dessert to share. The kids acted out the nativity and then we had our traditional talent show.

Christmas morning wasn't quite the same without little children, but we enjoyed opening presents and then we invited Charlie and Lucille over for our traditional breakfast of Aebleskivers, bacon, scrambled eggs and hot chocolate. We headed out to Missy's on Christmas evening. We had a delicious dinner and then enjoyed visiting with Pam and Roger and Missy, Jedd and the kids. I was dumb and didn't take any pictures ;( It was a wonderful Christmas with a Russian twist and we got the best Christmas present ever having Whitney home!

Those pictures make me feel so homesick!! We had a nice Christmas, but it didn't feel the same as the ones spent at home with you guys and it was so much quieter. You ARE good at throwing parties. You've spoiled us all!
