Whitney spoke in our ward's Sacrament Meeting the day after Christmas, December 26. She reported to the High Council earlier that morning at 8 am and she did a fantastic job. She answered questions and told mission experiences for about 45 minutes. I loved hearing her bear her testimony in Russian. There wasn't a dry eye in the room, the spirit was so strong. Her talk in Sacrament meeting was centered on hope and she told lots of stories of the people in Russia who demonstrate great Hope as they strive to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a wonderful meeting. After our block of meetings we invited our neighbors and family over for a Russian feast.

We served Borsch, Shi (Ukrainian soup without beets), ham, salad with Russian dressing, rolls, and crackers and dip. It was so fun having our family and friends over to hear more Russian stories.

We even talked Whitney into entertaining us on the piano later in the afternoon. Now that Whitney is safely home (well she's safely at BYU) I can finally say that I am so thankful that she was able to serve a mission to Samara, Russia. She had a life changing experience and her testimony has been greatly strengthened. She has been blessed in so many ways, and so have we.

Oh how I wish we could have been there. I want to hear Russian stories!
What a wonderful day! I am sorry we missed Whitney's report! We look forward to seeing her soon!
Roger and I were so blessed to be in your Sacrament meeting to hear that wonderful talk! It was so uplifting, though we know how difficult her mission was. I know how proud you must be of her and the lovely and mature adult she has become!
Does that mean if she hadn't it made it safely home, you would have been mad she'd served a mission?? She is one AMAZING RM.
