"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

A Winter Ski Boot Adventure

Tom got to take his boots down last weekend and he invited me along for a snowy getaway in McCall. We headed up to McCall on Friday afternoon and drove through freezing rain/snow. Because of the heavy snowfall once we got to Cascade and McCall, we decided against cross country skiing. We got checked into our motel, had dinner at Lardo's
(sounds diet friendly doesn't it) and then drove out to Gold Fork, our favorite winter hot springs. We had the place to ourselves until about 20 boy scouts showed up. So much for a relaxing soak, but we still really enjoyed sitting in the hot spring with the snow falling all around.
Saturday morning we woke up to a beautiful blue sky and we headed out to cross country ski at Ponderosa State Park.
We covered about 8 miles in 2 1/2 hours and had a great time on the well-groomed trails.

We loaded up and drove into McCall where we bought some Subway sandwiches, then we drove to Cascade and had a picnic and then cross country skied some more on some trails we'd never tried before.

It was great fun and a great excuse to take Tom's boots down and include me in the fun!

The place is really named Lardo's?? Too funny. Your weekend looks like a blast! Who said empty nesting would be difficult??
