"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Welcome Home Sister Morris!

It has been a while since I've posted a blog. I've got lots of catching up to do, so here goes, get ready for a Blogfest!
On Monday, Dec. 13 I had my Christmas piano recital at an Assisted Living Home. All 12 of my piano students participated and they all did GREAT! I was so proud of them and relieved to check that off of my list. Sara and her kids flew into Boise on Dec. 14 to be here when Whitney arrived home from her mission. We had a fun couple days waiting for the big day when Sister Morris would return. We dipped pretzels and marshmallows

and went to Disney's "Tangled". We all loved it!
Whitney was supposed to arrive on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 11:45 pm, but her flight from Moscow to Atlanta was delayed 2 hours which caused her to miss her flight from Atlanta to Boise, so she had to stay the night in Atlanta and didn't arrive in Boise until 5 pm on Friday December 17.Here we are anxiously waiting at the airport.

We hardly recognized her when she walked through the gates. We were standing there holding up our sign and she almost walked right on past. It was so wonderful to hug her and welcome her back safely to Boise.

Whitney had written to us that she really wanted a hamburger when she got home, so we went directly from the airport to Smashburger for a cheeseburger and fries. It was delicious and so fun to finally hear some Russian stories in person.
Once we got her home, it wasn't long before she was entertaining us at the piano.

After visiting and catching up for a while, we walked down the street to our Stake President's house where Whitney was released as a full-time missionary. She had done so well all evening and hadn't cried until she was asked to take off her badge, then the tears flowed. She LOVED her mission to Russia, most especially the people, and she served obediently and faithfully. Welcome Home Sister Morris!

We loved being with you guys on Christmas day at Missy's, and it was such a pleasure talking to Whitney and feeling of her love of her mission. And like you said, Joan, she isn't even weird! Most missionaries take a few days! Her talk on Sunday was wonderful and so inspiring. We are so glad she is back safely and look forward to the next chapter.
