Our Relief Society took a field trip to the Twin Falls temple a few weeks ago. It was fun being with these sweet sisters and attending the temple together and having lunch afterwards. It was a full days trip, but worth it since our temple won't be open for at least a year.
Tom and I drove up to Garden Valley to go to the Starlight Mountain Theater. We stopped for a picnic along the banks of the Payette River. Who knows what these rafters were doing but they probably work for the rafting company and were bored?
We saw "How to Succeed in Business" at the Starlight Mtn. Theater. It was a great show and the setting is gorgeous!
We invited Missy, Jedd and family and Aaron and Carina and family over for an FHE swim party/barbecue. We had a great time eating, swimming, and chatting. It was fun getting to meet Carina's sister, Emily.
We decided we'd better catch one more baseball game before summer ended so we invited Charlie to go to the Hawk's game with us. The weather was perfect and the price was right ($1 per ticket) and the Hawk's even won!
We went on one last Family Campout last weekend, although our family consists of only Tom and I. We went up to Lake Fork Campground above McCall. John and Cindy and Aaron and Carina had camped up at that campground the end of July and said that the fishing was awesome, so we thought we'd try it out. It is a beautiful campground in the forest primeval,
across the creek from our campground and picked lots of huckleberries (mmm, those huckleberry pancakes were yummy)
until we ran into some fresh bear scat and decided we'd better turn around. Tom fished
and caught quite a few, but they were just little guys (I think Aaron and John caught all the big ones). They were perfect size for eating though.
Our friends, Rick and Aline Hurst and their son Scott and daughter in law Natasha joined us on Friday night.
Next up, Western Idaho Fair!

You guys have had such a busy but fun summer! Thanks for having us over for FHE, it was a lot of fun. Sorry you guys only caught little fish, we'll have Aaron and John let some go next time :).
What fun adventures! But I'm stuck back up there on the Heavenly Ham box lunch. We got one of those once when I was there and they are to die for. Now that's my kind of picnic. Oh, I also like the picture of the Twin Falls temple. How neat you got to go there. Idaho be a changin.
I'm glad you were able to do all the things on your summer wish list! There is nothing like spending time in the mountains to feel renewed!
Wow! What a list! Looks like fun, minus the bear scat. ;)
Sounds like a blast! You guys are always up for an adventure and never seem to slow down.
I somehow missed this post and I enjoyed seeing the items on your check list. Your pool looks like it is so nice and the Smiths tell me how much fun they have had there. Great pics! Glad you have been where Mom wanted to go. What a pretty place - love that stacked raft pic!
